Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 August 2026

By paying to change a word on sentence.wtf, you agree to these terms. They are short because the site does one thing.

What this is

One sentence that anyone can pay to change, one word at a time. The words are submitted by members of the public. They are not written, chosen, or endorsed by the operator. Submissions pass automated checks before payment — length, formatting, and a blocklist — and nothing else. There is no editorial review, and no moderation after a word is placed.

Edits are final

A completed edit is final and non-refundable. You are paying to place a word at a moment in time, not to keep it there: anyone else may pay to change or clear that same word immediately afterwards, and that is the point of the site rather than a fault in it.

The one automatic exception: if someone else's change lands on the same word while your payment is in flight, your edit does not apply and you are refunded automatically. You are never charged for an edit that did not happen.

Permanence, and the one exception

The history of the sentence is permanent. Once a change is recorded it is not edited or deleted, and it stays publicly visible.

The exception: in rare cases involving legal obligations or safety, specific words may be redacted from historical records. This does not constitute moderation of live content, which remains fully user-editable by anyone at any time.

Age

You must be 18 or older to pay for an edit. Since there are no accounts, this cannot be verified, and you are representing it by making a payment.

Payments

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as the merchant of record. Their terms govern the payment itself, and your card statement will show them rather than this site. Card details never reach sentence.wtf's systems.

Liability

The site is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the site, or for content submitted by other users. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Disputes

These terms do not name a governing jurisdiction. Any dispute should first be raised in good faith at [email protected], and both sides agree to attempt a reasonable resolution before any other step.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
