Refund Policy

Every payment on sentence.wtf buys one thing: placing a word at a position, at the price quoted at that moment. This page says plainly when money comes back and when it does not.

Automatic refunds

If your edit does not apply, you are refunded in full, automatically. You never have to ask, and you are never charged for an edit that did not happen.

This happens when someone else's change lands on the same word while your payment is still in flight. Only one payment can win a given word; the one that arrives second is returned. Refunds go to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

Completed edits are final

If your word was placed, the payment is final and non-refundable. You are paying to place a word at a moment in time, not to keep it there: anyone else may pay to change or clear it immediately afterwards, and that is the point of the site rather than a fault in it. A word being changed by someone else later is not grounds for a refund.

Equally, there is no refund for changing your mind about the word you chose, or for a typo. Your word is shown back to you for confirmation before any payment is taken.

If something went wrong

If you were charged and your word never appeared, that is a fault and we will refund it. Email [email protected] with the payment reference from your receipt. There are no accounts here, so that reference is the only way to connect a payment to an edit — please include it.

We aim to answer within a few days. Please contact us before raising a chargeback: a dispute costs us a fee even when the underlying payment was fine, and if the problem is a genuine fault we would rather simply refund you.

Who takes the payment

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as the merchant of record, so your statement shows their name rather than sentence.wtf. Their terms also apply to the payment itself.
